While most enterprise software markets receded during the global economic crisis, the project and portfolio management (PPM) market has shown “marked resilience,” according to Gartner’s “2011 MarketScope for PPM Applications” — formerly known as the "Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management.”
“Demand for PPM applications has not wavered, but, rather, increased exponentially during the past 10 years,” writes Gartner research analyst Daniel Stang in the report released June 13. “Deep maturity is making it increasingly difficult to distinguish between competing products on feature/function alone.
