PMI Welcomes Agile Group
Projects@Work   (October 30, 2009)

Recently launched PMI Agile Community of Practice officially welcomed at reception hosted by IT & Telecom Special Interest Group at PMI North America Global Congress.

The PMI Agile Community of Practice, officially launched earlier this year, was welcomed at a reception hosted by PMI’s IT & Telecom SIG at the North America Global Congress in Orlando, Fla., in October. With a stated purpose “to equip PMI members with Agile knowledge and skills,” the group was created to serve as a connecting body between the Agile and PMI communities, facilitating communication, cooperation and collaboration.

“This has been a two-year journey for PMI’s Agile project management practitioners,” said Jesse Fewell PMP, CST, who has been leading the effort to launch the community. “At long last, PMI members now have an authoritative source on Agile Project Management, built by their peer project managers who have done it in the real world.”

About 200 project management professionals attended the event to learn more about the Agile community of practice and meet a number of the volunteers who helped coordinate its launch.
