The Project Management Institute announces the upcoming release of a new book that explores the future of project management and its impact on organizations.
The Project Management Institute (PMI) has announced the upcoming release of Project Management Circa 2025, a new book that brings together 41 project management experts to envision and describe the practice of project management in the year 2025. The book, scheduled for release on October 11, discusses what future changes can be expected in the use of project management, and how organizations around the world might be impacted by these changes.
"Project management has evolved over many decades as a means for organizations to deal with change, and is currently one of the fastest growing professional disciplines in the world," said Gregory Balestrero, PMI president and CEO. "It is our hope that Project Management Circa 2025 will inspire dialogue about the project management profession; create awareness of what industry changes can be expected in the future and help facilitate the management of these changes."
Edited by project management luminaries David Cleland, PhD, and Bopaya Bidanda, PhD, Project Management Circa 2025 is comprised of 29 chapters grouped into five sections that depict the following aspects of the future practice of project management: geographic and industry applications; systems applications; organizational applications; government; and trends.
Contributing authors collectively represent industry, government agencies, academic institutions, associations and consulting teams from around the world.
