Ever-increasing interest in agile knowledge and best practices drew a record 1,500-plus attendees and thought leaders to the four-day Agile 2008 Conference in Toronto last week. Here’s a recap of news from the exhibition floor.
The Agile 2008 Conference, held in Toronto, Canada, last week, set a record for attendance, drawing more than 1,500 people from 39 countries to the four-day event — a 35 percent increase in attendance from last year’s show in Washington, D.C., according to the Agile Alliance. The annual conference, now in its sixth year, is the largest event dedicated to Agile practices, gathering thought leaders, researchers, software vendors, consultants and developers to network and share best practices at the team and enterprise level.
This year’s conference — themed “Expanding Agile Horizons” — offered more than 400 sessions divided into core areas, including techniques and technologies; attitudes and policies; research and experience; and management and development. To facilitate the increased audience, Agile 2008 adopted the metaphor of a music festival with multiple stages to attract audiences with common interests.
