Authors' Wiki Invites Input to Upcoming PM Book
Projects@Work   (April 4, 2007)

Members of the project community are asked to share their experiences and thoughts on the subject of collaboration.

The authors of an upcoming project management book titled Fiddler on the Project have created a wiki workspace — http://fiddlerontheproject.bluwiki.com — to invite members of the project community to contribute ideas for inclusion in a chapter about project collaboration. The book is slated for publication later this year.

“[The book] will give readers a thorough and modern perspective of project management with a slight twist — woven through the book are themes from, and allusions to, the musical, "The Fiddler on the Roof" to highlight key points,” says Rich Maltzman, PMP, coauthor with Ranjit Biswas, PMP. “It will cover the Knowledge Areas of the 3rd Edition PMBOK Guide, and will pepper these with examples from the public domain as well as the authors' experience in the telecom, education and biotech fields.”

Referencing recent works such as The World is Flat and Wikinomics, the book will also explore the effects of collaboration and globalization on today's project managers.
