Planview Acquires Business Engine
  (February 13, 2007)

Largest independent provider of IT portfolio management solutions expects addition of strong earned value management offering will open new opportunities in the federal government and product development markets.

Planview, the largest independent provider of IT portfolio management solutions, has acquired substantially all of the assets of San Francisco-based Business Engine, a longtime IT portfolio management provider with an emphasis on financial reporting and analysis. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

With the addition of the Business Engine product family, Planview hopes to increase its presence in the portfolio management space, and deepen its capabilities in the earned value management and product portfolio management markets. Business Engine immediately expands Planview’s opportunities in the growing performance management market for federal government agencies and government contractors.

“This partnership is a natural integration of two companies that share many common characteristics — a focus on creating value for our customers, a remarkably aligned product vision, strength in financial services, and most importantly, a cultural fit that offers our customers seamless, world-class service,” said Pat Durbin, founder and CEO of Planview, based in Austin, Texas.
