The Missing Link

It is the separation of strategy from execution that remains the great operational divide in the business world, leaving organizations spinning their competitive wheels, while frustrating the very people — the project managers and team members — who are expected to deliver the results.

That's a great idea! How are we going to do it? Innovative thinking is a rare and wonderful asset to any organization, but only when it is translated into tangible value. The fact is, many a good idea withers on the vine for want of the ways and means to execute. All the dirty details that turn vision into reality, strategy into results. Isn't that where project management comes in?
 
Yes, but unfortunately, that's also where project management usually ends. It seems more organizations than ever have realized the importance of strong project management practices and methodologies. And many have invested in project management tools and training to standardize processes and develop their people. A growing number of organizations have even established project management offices to support their project efforts and enforce best practices.
 
Still, many of these same organizations see project after project continue to veer off track.
