Agile 2006 Roundup
Projects@Work   (August 3, 2006)

Focused on delivering business value early in the project lifecycle through timely communication and response to requirements, agile development is one of the fastest growing trends in technology. More than 1,100 people attended Agile 2006 last month to learn the latest in agile techniques. Here are some show highlights.

Agile 2006 wrapped up in Minneapolis last week. The weeklong international conference, run by The Agile Alliance, focused on techniques and technologies, attitudes and policies, research and experience, and the management and development sides of agile software development. The conference brought together researchers from labs and academia with executives, managers and developers in the trenches of software development, providing a forum for the exchange of information regarding all agile development technologies. Here are some highlights of last week’s show, attended by ProjectsAtWork.

Agile Gains Acceptance
Interest in agile development methods is growing across the IT landscape with 81 percent of organizations either actively using agile development methodologies within their organization or looking for opportunities to do so, according to a survey conducted by agile software development firm Digital Focus, a division of Command Information.
