A few years ago, Mindjet started embracing cloud computing by moving its file sharing and export conversion processing into the cloud. At the time, Mindjet was a mind mapping tool just beginning to experiment with online collaboration. Back then, I didn’t understand why a client-based tool would need to integrate with the web to convert different file formats or store documents unrelated to mind mapping.
